PEGGY PETRALI

Peggy Petrali is a watercolor artist living in Northern California. Since childhood she has been drawn to the creative process. In her teens she enjoyed needlework projects, creating small crafts, and later working with stained glass including creating stained glass lampshades.

Shortly after moving to the Sierra Foothills, she became interested in painting. She studied with local nationally and internationally known watercolor artists including Beverly Fields, Tracy Lewis, Sandy Delahanty and Linda Erfle. She developed a passion for the challenging watercolor medium and while improving her painting skills and techniques, she created her own unique style and became an award-winning artist. Her recent creative development was learning to work on a new surface known as Aquabord, from renowned artist Ali Cavanaugh. This surface is reminiscent of the fresco technique. 

She has won several awards in local, national, and international competitions. She finds inspiration in a variety of settings and subjects, from people or animals to flowers or statues. Each of her paintings are created by layering luminous glazes and washes of pigment, capturing the desired depth, color, and emotion, to achieve her interpretation of realism in her paintings.
