HOW TO JOIN THE GALLERY
The Gallery is operated by its member artists. There are no employees, so all the work of operating the gallery is done by its member artists. If you're interested in becoming a Gold Country Artist, read on and we'll tell you how to apply.
We consider new artist submissions on a monthly basis. Some months there are openings, and some months not. We have a jury committee to review your work, staffed by our artists. Each artist "rents" either a full space or a half space, or appropriate space for 3D work. There are initial fees to join, then a monthly rental for your display space ($57.50 for a half space, and $100 for a full space). In addition, each artist is scheduled to work three shifts at the gallery per month, with each shift lasting four hours. The gallery only charges a 15% commission, which is very low compared to regular gallery rates. By staffing the gallery with artists, the gallery overhead is very low, allowing us to keep the commission low.
