 ARTIST BIO MARINA RYABOVA

Originally from Russia, Marina now lives and works in California. Painting has been an integral part of her life since early childhood. According to her family, she could spend hours drawing by the age of three. During her school years, she designed the school newspaper and later completed professional training in commercial art while still in high school. Although Marina's professional career was outside the arts, painting remained a constant throughout her life. Alongside her work in psychology and banking, she continued to refine her artistic practice through years of dedicated study and independent work, including studying academic drawing and classical painting techniques under artist Ramil Magliev. Today, Marina works primarily in watercolor, creating landscapes that explore the relationship between light, atmosphere, and emotional memory. Inspired by her travels throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as her interest in human perception, she is less concerned with documenting a place than with capturing the feeling it leaves behind. Her paintings invite viewers to pause, experience the quiet beauty of the natural world, and reconnect with the emotions that landscapes awaken. Whether depicting a mountain trail, a secluded coastline, an old village, or a forest after rain, Marina seeks to preserve the fleeting moments when light, nature, and memory come together.
