Branda Corey was raised in California and spent most of her childhood exploring lakes, forests and the Pacific Ocean. Her love of nature, combined with her appreciation of rustic finishes and patinas acts as an inspiration for her flamework glass.
Branda took her first flamework glass class in 2010 through the Mineral and Gem Society. Prior to her budding flamework career, she explored the lapidary arts and dabbled with ceramics. Like a moth to a flame, she had her own home studio set up within months.
After exploring the various styles of lampwork glass, Branda realized her heart kept leading her back to organic nature inspired pieces that reminded her of underwater scenes, starry skies, or wooded mountains. Branda also loves bright colors which often leads her to create whimsical pieces teaming with polka dots and bright murrini cane.
The love of glass goes back generations in Branda's family. She grew up looking at her grandmother's extensive glass paperweight collection, often wondering how the amazing designs ended up inside the clear glass domes. She also spent her childhood watching her mother create beautiful stained glass windows.
