Dory Ann is a self-taught artist and photographer who originally hails from Thousand Oaks in southern California. She has been drawing all her life, working in such diverse artistic disciplines as portraits, caricature, and sculpture. Dory moved to northern California to pursue a career in academia, but found new artistic inspiration in the natural terrain of the region. Her drawings and photography feature rolling chaparral and forest landscapes, as well as intimate portraits of local wildlife. Dory's preferred tools are a camera, pencil, and ink, but she recently began experimenting with digital painting. She currently lives with her husband and many pets, teaching psychology courses at the local university and devoting every spare moment to her art.
